August has been a fairly quiet month.
The children at Sale and Davys School have completed their Victorian embroidery display
We have added a number of old photographs to the project
We have also obtained all the census records for the village from 1841 to 1901 to allow us to confirm some of the old house names – not always the names they are known as now!
It has also been interesting to discover who actually lived in the village during the Victorian period
Finally – one of the aims of the project is to produce updated walks of both the Village and the Parish. The team organised a trial walk to determine what should go into the final document.
We expected just a few of the project Team members to turn up – bit the response from the Parish was quite astonishing
The short video gives a view of the village and the day
In the last week of August two members of the Team are going to London to visit the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem to see if we can gain any additional information about the relationship of the village Church of St Wifrid and the Knights Hospitalers
